Floor is the connection between you and the world.
When Zen spirit seeps into every grain of wood,
the floor awakens,
no longer mere plank,
but a living lung of the earth,
breathing dawn and dusk in quiet cadence.
Each ring of years, a silent sutra;
each step, a footfall into ancient conversation,
"I return to dust; you rest in heart."
Light glides across,
shadows sway like slow reeds;
a breeze slips through the lattice,
carrying cedar and sandalwood in one breath.
Stand here,
and the heart sinks into a waveless lake.
This floor has a soul.
It listens to your tread,
answers your weariness;
it speaks no word,
yet teaches release.
Human and wood,
wood and the wild,
in this square of stillness,
they seal the deepest accord.
